It’s peppermint and gingerbread and coco at night
It’s pine trees and baubles and tinsel bright
It’s sleigh bells and choirs and tunes everyone knows
It’s snowballs and icicles and frosty windows
It’s cards and calendars and stockings hung
It’s smiles and laughter and carols sung
It’s rest and relaxation and quiet thoughts
It’s toys and trinkets and gifts we bought
It’s a red coat and a white beard and a jolly chuckle
It’s sledding, and snowmen and frozen knuckles
It’s candles and holly and twinkling lights
It’s secrets and guesses and presents out of sight
It’s giving and loving and kindness for others
It’s sleepy homes and fathers and mothers
It’s neighbors and family and friends
It’s peaceful and joyful and with us even after it ends

It’s what you make of it.

Too commercial?
Too cliché?
Too Christian?

What about just…Christmas?





I know it's a little dinky, but I don't care. I really don't like when people complain about Christmas. All it does is bring down those of us who aren't grinches. You can whine about how it's too classic and unoriginal, or that it's just false manufactured happiness to get consumers in stores, or that it's all based on religious beliefs and by celebrating you will show your support for those ideas. You can even throw a fit cause you didn't get the presents you wanted last year.

Shut up, forget that junk and savor the best part of the whole year. It shouldn't be THAT hard to enjoy yourself without getting caught up in a bunch of negativity. I mean, if you cant have fun during Christmas, when do you have fun? Make it your own, not what anyone else says it should be. See if you can't find a little Christmas hope this year.
